In a recent survey on stress and wellbeing conducted by the Australian Psychological Society, four in five participants found activities like listening to music and spending time on a hobby were effective ways of managing stress. Finding an enjoyable pastime can also enhance wellbeing, improve social connections, and even stave off depression or anxiety.
In this latest carer wellbeing podcast, KCV spoke with two carers about their carer situations and what part hobbies and other meaningful pursuits played in their lives and learned about the benefits these activities bring them.

Margie is also an immunisation expert with over ten years of experience in vaccine research and clinical work, both in Australia and in resource poor settings. Kinship Carers Victoria (KCV) is the peak body for all kinship carers in the state.
KCV works to:
- Identify, promote and represent the views of kinship carers in decision-making processes
- Inform and train carers to enable them to better perform their role as carers
- Advocate for the needs of kinship carers with decision makers
- Promote and assist in the delivery of programs designed to support kinship carers.
